The word “lived” in this verse does not mean to “live and then to die.” So what does it really mean? The Hebrew word for “to live” is “Chayah” and except for “to live” this word also means, “to restore to life, to give life, to revive and to rescue.” In other words, Adam also received salvation from sin by believing in God’s righteousness in exactly the same manner as us, and he spread the gospel of the water and the Spirit to the lost souls who had fallen into sin so that they could also receive the remission of sin. He thus did the work of giving new life to the lost and then went before God. After Adam met the Lord, throughout his life he worked together with the Him. Adam lived his entire life to save other souls.
